Why we exist

The gap between advisory firms and in-house delivery teams.

Large transformation programmes in banking, insurance, and FinTech commonly fail in one of two ways. Either an external firm wins the engagement on the strength of senior credentials but staffs delivery with junior teams, or an in-house team takes on a mandate that exceeds its current experience.

Prime Project Management provides senior delivery leadership of the calibre regulated institutions would hire permanently, available for the duration of the engagement.

Every engagement is led by a practitioner with deep experience of programmes operating under regulatory scrutiny. The senior consultant who leads the pitch is the consultant who leads the work.

Clients engage us for the judgement of practitioners who have led programmes of this scale before, not for hours or methodology.

About Mark Primett

Mark Primett, founder of Prime Project Management

Prime Project Management was founded by Mark Primett. With over twelve years' senior delivery experience across financial services, from FTSE-listed institutions to scale-up FinTechs, Mark has led and recovered transformation programmes spanning core platform replacement, regulatory remediation, and digital build-out.

He established Prime to address a specific gap. Too many large programmes are sold on senior credentials and delivered by junior teams operating to a generic consultancy playbook. Every Prime engagement is led personally by Mark, or by a practitioner of comparable seniority.

Based between London and Dubai, Prime works with clients across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

Operating principles

Six principles that govern how we work.

Senior, end to end

The lead practitioner runs the engagement from the initial conversation through to handover. There is no transition from senior pitch to junior delivery.

Direct reporting

We report the position as it stands. Material risk is escalated in advance of the milestone, not afterwards.

Lean methodology

We use the lightest framework that supports the engagement. Over-engineered methods are rarely sustained by delivery teams in practice.

Outcome, not output

We measure success by the change delivered to the business, not by the volume of deliverables produced.

Rolling notice

Engagements operate on short notice. Clients may end the engagement at any point if the work is not delivering against the agreed outcomes.

Leave the function stronger

Every engagement concludes with the client function more capable than at the outset, and not reliant on our continued involvement.

Where we operate

Sectors served.

Our focus is financial services, where the cost of delivery failure is high and stakeholder scrutiny is detailed. These environments reward disciplined governance and senior practitioner judgement.

Banking Insurance Wealth & Asset Management FinTech Payments Capital Markets

The discipline transfers. Where the cost of failure is high and oversight is detailed, we also lead programmes in professional services, energy and utilities, government, and healthcare.

Programme types

Programmes we lead.

Programmes of material scope and board-level visibility, where the outcomes required are concrete and measurable.

Credentials

Credentials and experience.

Methodology

Our practitioners hold certifications in PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), P3O, AgilePM, and Scaled Agile (SAFe). Methodology selection is led by the requirements of the engagement.

Governance

Programme experience across FCA, PRA, Basel, MAR, GDPR, Consumer Duty, Operational Resilience, and SOX. The team operates fluently with risk, compliance, and audit functions.

Tooling

Working knowledge of Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday, Confluence, Power BI, and Tableau. Tooling decisions are led by client context, not by internal preference.
